Sydney FC call Parramatta Stadium home
Parramatta Stadium will be painted a different shade of blue on Sunday 7 February when Sydney FC take to the field in their crucial Round 26 Hyundai A-League clash against the Perth Glory.
The Sky Blue faithful will descend on Parramatta Stadium for just the third time in the club’s history and are calling all football fans in the area to get behind Sydney FC’s push for a second Hyundai A-League title.
Tickets for the match go on sale at Midday today. Fans are strongly encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets from just $20 at Ticketek on 132 849 or www.ticketek.com.au
“This is an outstanding opportunity for Sydney FC to showcase our brand and show the people of Western Sydney what we stand for,” CEO Edwin Lugt said.
“A lot of our members and supporters live in the area so to bring the Hyundai A-League and Sydney FC to their doorstep will make for a special evening.
“It is a great chance for the greater Western Sydney community to see likes of John Aloisi, Alex Brosque, Steve Corica and Simon Colosimo in action very close to home.
“The Cove, our members and supporters are excited about the game and we are expecting a big crowd which will make for an atmosphere that only football can provide.
“The Parramatta Stadium Trust has made everything that goes with holding an event such as this very simple.”
After a successful preseason campaign that saw the club play more than a dozen games throughout New South Wales, the match at Parramatta Stadium is a great opportunity for Sydney FC to engage with the wider Sydney community.
“We had two, three, four thousand fans turn up to our preseason games in suburbs like Campbelltown, Bankstown, Manly and Wollongong to name a few. Sydney FC has supporters right across the state,” Lugt said.
International Perspectives on Land Application of Recycled Organics
Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA) breakfast seminar with Professor Stephen Smith.
Environmental regulators are discouraging the landfill disposal of biodegradable wastes to reduce methane emissions. This will contribute to mitigating the effects of waste disposal practices on climate change.
Treatment and land application of sewage sludge biosolids, biodegradable municipal solid waste and industrial biowastes is the main alternative approach to landfill disposal. The major advantage is that the beneficial plant nutrient and organic matter resources contained in these materials are recycled to improve soil properties and productivity.
Land application of biosolids from urban wastewater treatment is well established as is the recycling of source separated greenwaste composts. However, some regulators are reluctant to allow stabilised AWT organic outputs from the biological mechanical treatment of municipal solid waste to be applied to soil due to concerns about the potential impacts on soil quality, human health and the environment.
In this paper, Stephen will examine international trends in the utilisation of bioresources on land. He will discuss the evidence base supporting this practice for different residual organic product types.
